Growing Up

Gosh, it's been a really long time since I have blogged. Where to start. Reese has been walking for 3 weeks now. I look at her and still can't believe she is walking. She is turning into a little girl. I missed her very first step. Garrett was here with her and he told me the next day. It brought tears to my eyes. For one it was her first step and two I missed it. I had been practicing with her for a while and looking forward to her first steps. I guess its just a mommy thing, it wasn't as big a deal to Garrett as it was to me. But she did take another for me the next day and again I got teary eyed. My baby is growing up. She has just really started liking books. She will go get a book and bring it to us to read to her and as soon as you take the book she starts giggling and gets all excited. She has a baby doll and this bear toy that makes noises and she loves to sit in the floor and kiss on them and rock them. It's the sweetest thing. Her phrase that she uses ALL the time is "what's that". She will point at everything and say "what's that". We have Preacher to thank for that, and Preachers wife for teaching her to stick out her tongue. It's cute now, but won't be later. She can wink now which is the funniest thing to see, of coarse she squints both eyes. I put the baby gate up on the back deck and she loves to go run around with Sam on the deck. Our friends Austin and Rachael had a baby a few weeks ago and she isn't quite sure what to think of her. She is used to getting all the attention. But, I think it will be good for her and get her ready for when we have another one. Since its been a while since I have blogged, I have many pictures.....

                                                                    Rocking her bear....
                                                             First time meeting Hadley....

Yep, she got up there all by herself

Her favorite book has been I Like Myself (thanks aunt Mary Beth)

I just love these eyes, which are starting to turn brown

  1. Sometimes it's hard to decide whether to laugh or cry about their accomplishments :) They grow so fast & you are so proud of them, but yet it's hard to see the baby stage left behind.
She is just so precious & gentle & loving. She is going to be a great mom someday & she has a great role model.
So glad she loves to read, she is the smartest little thing!
Her & Hadley are going to have so much fun playing together, even though Reese has reservations about it now :)

  2. I agree with Stacey. It is hard to believe she is growing up so fast I look at yours and Mary Beth's blogs to get my warm fuzzies...and then along comes a picture like Reese doing a somersalut...and I get my laughter for the day...thank you for sharing your precious one with us. Love Aunt Cheri
